The most notable addition in the pack is the inclusion of four new playable characters, all of which are available from the start.

Remember the tingly sensation when you first saw Daniel-san’s crane kick? Balboa vs Drago? McFly’s Biff-spinning punch in Back to the Future? Street Fighter IV is that feeling. Buy it, learn your Ultra, and get online. Have no fear. You’re going to love the result.

With the enhancements and new fighters in Arcade Edition, SSFIV is now one of the best, least chaotic, and most user-friendly fighting games to jump into.

Seth aside, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is a phenomenal fighter and well worth having in any PC gamer’s library. Being the only follow-up to Street Fighter IV on the PC, Arcade Edition is a substantial release that brings over a dozen new characters, numerous balances, and several multiplayer modes to the base game—and all for $39.99.

Regardless of which camp you’re in, Arcade Edition is modest update (possibly the last) to SSFIV that hopes to close the gap between characters and overall a more enjoyable experiences for street fighters everywhere.

In short (too late!), even if you are only mildly interested in the genre, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is a great choice as one of the best fighting games ever made.

Aside from the new characters, there were considerable balance changes made to existing characters as well.

Coming from a PC-centric point of view, you should purchase Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition if you're a fighting game fan. All of the improvements are a massive upgrade from vanilla Street Fighter IV, with the redone online matchups almost being worth it on their own.

So Arcade Edition is exactly what it appears to be: a tempered update that lacks the immediate wow factor of its predecessor, but offers an extra layer of refinement on an already winning formula.

Icing on the cake

The changes in Super Street Fighter IV's Arcade Edition aren't extraordinary, but serve to further refine and balance one of the best fighting games in existence.

A budget price and a comprehensive list of updates probably won't impress casual gamers, but Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition still has plenty of additions that hardcore fans will want to snatch up.

Capcom have gone and made a great thing even better, particularly for the PC crowd. With improved online play, a massive character roster, more moves, more modes, and all the fun to be had with replays, Arcade Edition is an essential upgrade if you love fighters (and let's face it, for PC gamers, there are virtually no others to play at the moment).

Street Fighter IV is one of the best fighters of the last decade, but it’s getting harder to justify spending money on what’s essentially the same experience.

Arcade Edition is the most comprehensive version of Street Fighter IV released to date, and an essential buy for fans who don't already have Super Street Fighter IV.

This "definitive version" of Street Fighter 4 could use another update to fix some glaring character balance issues.

Let’s get it out of the way, unless you already enjoy Super Street Fighter IV, there’s nothing in Arcade Edition that’s likely to change your mind. Unless you’ve got a fetish for Dragonball Z and X-treme skating twins in Kung-Fu shirts. Then you’re in business.
