Connect, Compare, and Compete

Need for Speed The Run ups the ante on intense social competition by weaving the revolutionary Autolog right into the game’s immersive storyline. Every second of every race counts as Autolog your entire career to connect, compare, and compete with your friends and other drivers.

Building upon your favourite Autolog features from Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, you'll get in-game, as well as web and mobile, access to your Profile (with head-to-head stats comparison), Friends list (so you can see who's playing The Run right now), Autolog Recommends, and Gallery (for downloading and sharing all your amazing in-game photos). We'll also be introducing some new Autolog innovations that we plan to share with you all very soon.

Does this cinematic road trip have that new car smell or does it stink like a drive past a dairy farm?

Don' t believe the hype

More like an FPS than a racer, The Run lacks the performance and depth of Gran Turismo and Forza, but delivers on insane speeds and nail-biting arcade thrills.

NFS: The Run offers a great racing experience, although it is short lived.

If you are a fan of the NFS franchise, then this game would be worth the money, but considering that the replayability factor is low, and unless you are looking an arcade racer this holiday, you would be better off waiting for a price drop.

It focuses more on the intensity of the races itself, and even though there are snags that keep it from being a smooth running ride, it has enough heart-pounding racing moments to coast by.

It comes to a halt too frequently, but when it's speeding along, Need for Speed: The Run makes cross-country racing a joy.

Need for Speed: The Run is certainly a better than average racer. The problems it has are that its single player mode is just too short, with little reason to venture back into it once you're done, and the fact that it's just so bloody similar to Hot Pursuit.

Deep down this is a good racer for fans of the arcade style, but it just doesn't have quite enough of the bells and whistles we're used to. Black Box needs to go back to the drawing board and pay attention to what was successful about the Underground games and Most Wanted.

What a missed opportunity this was.

This one is definitely for fans of movies that are both Fast and or Furious.

The Run is not a marathon racing game, it's a quick and dirty drag race.

With the campaign over in an afternoon and the rest of the package failing to offer anything to keep you playing, The Run is some decent throwaway fun that will be forgotten very quickly.

The Need for Speed franchise heads off on a dramatic, cinematic, coast-to-coast journey with The Run. But is it worth hitching a ride?

Drive Angry

It makes an impression. Need for Speed: The Run starts out so well that I coasted on that high for about 45 more minutes before I realized the game I was playing just wasn't very good.

I Am Jack's Complete Lack of Surprise.

The Run is probably best experienced as a rental. It’s not nearly as strong as it could have been but there’s enough here to provide a day or two’s entertainment and – given the nature of what EA were trying to do – it at least succeeded on that level.

You can throw all the technology you like at a game, but that will never be enough to gloss over fundamental design flaws.

Before you can walk?

The Run may be the third Need for Speed in barely 12 months, but there was still the potential here to present a legitimate alternative to the games on the other side of the garage.

The Run is easily one of the worst entries to the Need For Speed series in a long time.
