Details

Might & Magic Heroes VI will take place in 564 YSD*, roughly some 400 years before Might & Magic Heroes V, at the time of the second Blood Moon Eclipse, and the Rise of Kha Beleth, the Demon Sovereign.
A legendary Archangel General, killed during the war of the Elder races, is resurrected. Under the cover of preparations for the upcoming Demon invasion, he plots to recover his powers and take control of Ashan while eradicating his ancient enemies. He underestimates, however, the power of the all-too-human Griffin dynasty...
Heroes VI tells the story of the Griffin dynasty, when they were still Dukes of the Holy Empire, and not yet sitting on the Imperial throne (like in Heroes 5 and Clash of Heroes). The Griffin Duchy is east of the Empire, a region that would correspond to the Slavic nations in our own world.

If anything, this streamlining will mean that Heroes 6 will appeal to a wider audience while retaining that necessary level of addiction and skill that existing fans crave so much.

It can be punishing at times, and its elaborate plot is a spectacular misfire thanks to the horrendous voice acting, but it's a must-play for Might & Magic fans.

The changes to the Heroes formula for this latest iteration of the strategy franchise look dramatic on paper. Zones of control on the strategic map? Wide-open hero skill trees? Just three creature tiers? Boss fights? Madness! After dozens of hours with the game, though, it becomes clear that the ultimate effect of all of these departures is remarkably small. Might & Magic Heroes VI is a better game than Heroes V in many respects

Might & Magic: Heroes VI demonstrates why it’s one of the longest-running series in strategy gaming.

This latest installment captures much of the charm and addictiveness of the other excellent fantasy-themed turn-based strategy games that earned Heroes of Might and Magic its fiercely dedicated fan base.

Might and Magic Heroes VI may have some issues with battlefield tactics in the late game and its story, but the strategy remains a blast nonetheless.

Might & Magic Heroes VI is a perfect example of iterative improvements that streamline and evolve a familiar formula without stepping too far outside the comfort (and comfortably lucrative) zone.

Might & Magic Heroes VI will include all the characters and features from previous installments, in addition to a wealth of new innovations showcasing a family of heroes in a thrilling, epic story where Angels plot to revive an unfinished war.

For those of you new to the series and want to give this one a try, I highly recommend getting the demo first as the game has a somewhat steep learning curve and you may get frustrated with this type of gameplay quickly.

Were it not for the slicker interface and graphics, our advice would be to stick with Heroes of Might & Magic 3.

If you’re looking for the atmosphere and scope, go back to Heroes III. If you’re looking for improved gameplay, Heroes VI will have you covered

Heroes VI strikes the right balance between subtle innovation and faithfulness to the core elements that make the series so excellent

The Might and Magic series' long-running strategy-RPG gameplay is still a lot of fun.

An adequate but unimpressive entry into the Heroes series that suffers badly from bugs.
