If Fear Itself was meant to be an opportunity for the new and improved War Machine to rise to the occasion, that hasn't exactly happened so far.

The story wasn't all that bad, but it felt a little flat...

We haven’t even had a chance to see what the 2.0 armor can do...

War Machine is making another guest apearance in his book...

Snatched from DC and of to Beijin, to hook up with the rest Immortal Weapons and stop demons from Hell entering our realm; and Hell has a capital; and the bad guy (aka Sun Wukong, aka The Monkey King) is sitting next to the hammer he can not lift doing, well nothing really; just sits there because none out of Hell can best him. At least that's the reason he offers to an imp demon.

There's some misfires on this one i think. Fisrt of, the Immortals Weapons have pledged themselfs in defending that portal, so they where summoned there, but War Machine's presence is still a mystery. Secondly, War machine does not say much and do even less. Which i found odd happening two issues in a row. It's his title, he at least should get beat up more. Last but not least is the art. It was not bad but it did not pop; and this issue needed that. The potencial for colosal action scenes was right there.

There are also some questions, like; what's up with this Sun guy? how come he gets the spotlight? or why Titania speaks english?

Overall this issue depends greatly on the readers view. You can treat War Machines presence there or his inaction or the spotlight on Sun, as holes in the script or as potencial surprises in issues to come. An add-on if you will, on the Iron Fist being not part of the solution cliffhanger.

This issue would have had a different impact if we did not already knew that Absorbing Man would get his hammer, but that's no fault of the creative team.

Still waiting to familiarise with War Machine.
